What it is

Powder Brows (also called Ombré Brows) use a stippling machine technique to deposit pigment in soft dots, creating a smooth gradient effect. The result resembles professionally filled-in brows without any harsh edges.

Unlike microblading, this technique works on virtually all skin types—including oily and mature skin—because the pigment sits evenly rather than relying on crisp strokes that can blur over time.

The ombré effect naturally concentrates color toward the arch and tail, keeping the front of the brow lighter for a natural, wearable look you can wear every day.

PRE-CARE ADVICE

Prepare your brows for the best results

Avoid anything that thins blood, irritates skin, or fills pores in the week before your appointment.

BROW TREATMENTS
  • No brow tinting, waxing, or threading for at least 2 weeks prior.
  • Do not use brow growth serums (Latisse, etc.) for 4 weeks before.
  • Avoid brow lamination for 6 weeks prior to your appointment.
INJECTABLES & MEDICAL
  • No Botox in the brow or forehead area for 3 weeks prior.
  • No fillers near the brow area for 4 weeks prior.
  • No Accutane for one year prior to any permanent makeup procedure.
SKIN & TOPICALS
  • Discontinue Retinol, AHAs, BHAs and vitamin C serums 30 days before.
  • No chemical peels, microneedling or laser treatments for 4 weeks prior.
  • Skin in the brow area must be free of sunburn, irritation or active breakouts.
DAY-TO-DAY PREP
  • Avoid blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen and alcohol 48 hours prior.
  • No caffeine or energy drinks 24 hours before to reduce sensitivity.
  • Stay out of tanning beds and direct sun for 2 weeks prior.
DAY OF PROCEDURE

Arrive fresh, leave with beautiful brows

Come with a clean face, bring reference photos if you have them, and plan for 2.5 hours.

ARRIVAL CHECKLIST
  • Arrive with no makeup on the brow area.
  • Eat a light meal beforehand to keep blood sugar stable.
  • Wear comfortable clothing—you will be lying still for a while.
AFTER-CARE (BROW PROTOCOL)

Protect the pigment while your skin heals

Brows will look dark and bold for the first week—this is completely normal. Color fades 20–40% as skin heals.

FIRST 24 HOURS
  • Gently blot the brow area with a clean cotton pad every 2–3 hours to remove excess lymph fluid.
  • Do not wet, rub or pick the brows. Keep them completely dry for 7 days.
  • Avoid sweating, saunas, steam, and swimming for 10–14 days.
BEFORE YOU BOOK

Three details people skim past

Small choices upstream prevent surprises on procedure day— especially around prior pigment, stimulants, and comfort planning.

Skin typePrior brow workSun exposure
  1. 1
    Existing brow tattooing or microblading

If you have previous brow tattooing or faded microblading, please send photos before booking. Layering pigment over old work requires assessment to ensure the result is clean and predictable.

  2. 2
    Oily skin expectations

Powder Brows are the best PMU choice for oily skin, but higher oil production can still shorten longevity. A touch-up session at 6–8 weeks is especially important for oily skin types.

  3. 3
    Sun and skincare after healing

Once healed, always apply SPF over the brow area. Retinol, acids, and frequent exfoliation will fade the pigment faster—adjust your routine accordingly.

STUDIO NOTE

Results at 4 weeks look different from results at 8 weeks—give the skin time before judging the final color.
